On the morning of the Tony nominations, a shout-out to the little guy.

Peter Scolari and Kevin Daniels in "Magic/Bird."
There were some high-profile snubs this morning, for "Evita," "Godspell," "Spider Man: Turn Off the Dark," but Patrick Healy in his New York Times coverage also mused about which of the smaller-grossing plays, that might have hung on with a Tony nod, will now be forced to close, including "Magic/Bird."   While the critics have been as tepid as audiences about the play, Peter Scolari has earned great notices in his multi-tasking supporting roles, playing, improbably enough, Red Auerbach, Pat Riley and Jerry Buss.  And his current turn as the doting father on the HBO series "Girls" is hilariously pitch-perfect.

So here's a shout-out to shorter half of the old "Bosom Buddies," the male half of Newhart's yuppie duo, Michael and Steffie, and here's a write up about Scolari from last week's NY Times:  http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/29/sports/peter-scolari-has-3-big-roles-in-magic-bird.html?ref=theater
