And in related British spy news from the 60s, William Boyd is The Sequelizer.

William Boyd is the latest writer fanboy to be chosen to  pen a James Bond novel.  And in true fanboy style, he began his term as Bond Laureate by being pissy about any attempts to mess about with his object of devotion, suggesting that the attempt of the previous Bond scribe, American thriller writer Jeffery Deaver, to bring the superspy into the 21st century was pointless.  Photo above shows Boyd (left), Deaver and Sebastian Faulks, who was the first to be annointed to write an official Bond sequeal, prequeal, or whatever these things are supposed to be.

Woodward was The Equalizer.
Boyd is The Sequelizer.
But speaking of sequeals, British actor Edward Woodward enjoyed success in the 80s dispensing vigilante justice in the tv series, "The Equalizer."  I suggest in that same spirit of smashing crimes--in this case what Boyd sees as a literary crime:  William Boyd...is...The Sequelizer.  Look out, Deaver, his pen is a weapon!

The photo of the writers from the Telegraph story, and here's the link:  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/jamesbond/9199341/New-James-Bond-author-William-Boyd-takes-swipe-at-previous-writers-attempt-to-update-007.html
