A better woman than I, to wit, Dorothy Parker.

Dorothy Parker:  1893-1967
Married thrice.  Blacklisted once.
Depressed mostly.  Witty always.

My snippy yet insufficient rant earlier today, re: New Yorker, made me think:  WWDS--as in What Would Dorothy Say.  Since my Ouija board is packed away somewhere, all I can do is offer a few snippets that DP is on record as having said:

"Brevity is the soul of lingerie."

"I've never been a millionaire but I just know I'd be darling at it."

"If all the girls who attended the Yale prom were laid end to end, I wouldn't be a bit surprised."

"This would be a good thing to put on my tombstone:  'Wherever she went, including here, it was against her better judgement.'"
