And now for something more tasteful....

Upstairs/downstairs at
Downton Abbey
Another must-see import from across the pond this week:  Season two of Downton Abbey, the series the AV Club called "The Show Most Recommended for Moms," which for season one also drew more than a million viewers online, most of them younger females.

Very upper crust:
Vanilla-glazed mini scones.
Unfortunately, both Hugh Grant and Colin Firth have sent their regrets to my viewing party.  Still, I intend to have other sweet things to cheer me up about my lack of castle and equestrian skills, and that would be scones.  Which are, by the way, like biscuits, and by that I mean the American kind rather than British "biscuits" which are really just cookies or crackers.  The web is filled with recipes for scones, but trying something from the King Arthur Flour website seems most appropriate.  These tiny treats have chocolate chips in them.  Of course, you can always punt and get something from Starbucks, but that might be kind of sad.  Unless George Clooney will be there to share them.
